An end of vintage offer of this special single vineyard Pinot Noir from renowned wine maker Larry McKenna.
We've been long time admirers of the Escarpment wines from Larry McKenna, especially his Single Vineyard releases. Of Larry's four Single Vineyard wines, Pahi has generally been the favourite of our customers, with its richly textured, smooth and mellow Pinot style. Limited stock, when it's gone it's gone!
Pahi by Escarpment 2010
“The Escarpment “Insight Series” allows individual vineyard expression from exceptional sites within the Martinborough Geographic Indication.
This wine was grown on the McCreanor Vineyard Princess Street, Martinborough from 29 year old vines. A combination of slightly heavier soils and a single clone, 10/5 on own roots, always rewards us with this particular style; soft, ripe, pure fruit expressions in an exceedingly New World Pinot Noir. Bright, light ruby. Unmistakeably ‘Pahi’. Aromas of strawberry coulis, cherries with subtle hints of spice. Pure fruit flavours shine with supple palate and good length.” Larry McKenna
Now at its peak of richly textured drinkablility (but will hold 3 – 4 years longer).

This really shows intensity and complexity with spices, bacon, dark fruit and earth. Full and layered with loads going on. It goes on for minutes. Juicy texture. Grapes from two hectares of Pinot near the town of Matinborough. Better in 2014.

eRobertParker.com #203. Oct 2012. Reviewer : Lisa Perrotti-Brown. Medium ruby in color, the 2010 Pahi Pinot Noir offers a nice aromatic core of mulberries, raspberries and red cherries with floral notes and earthy undertones of dried herbs / stems, bark, pepper and meat. Medium-bodied with a good concentration of layered flavors and medium levels of grainy tannins, it has a long and earthy finish. It should drink well 2013 to 2018+.
